She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Bates, and Evelyn Bates, Sr. (Wilkins); and her husband Raymond "Smitty" Smith. She is survived by: her sibling's children, Linda McCalister (Tim), Duane Hopkins (Sandy), Gary Hopkins (Margie) and Tim Hopkins (Jeanne). She is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
