She was predeceased by: her parents, Merlyn Elliott and Kathryn Elliott (Everhard); her former husband Bill Schaefer; her children, Mark Schaefer and Lois Schaefer; and her siblings, Mary Phillips, Anna Virlee Boerste, Kathleen Hile, Martha Cook and John Elliott.

She is survived by: her sons, John Schaefer (Melissa), David Schaefer (Lori), William "Bill" Schaefer, Daniel Schaefer and Joseph Schaefer (Kathy); and her brother Jerry Elliott. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
