He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J. Ritter and Blondina Ritter (Effinger); his siblings, Mildred Gerteisen, Agnes Ritter, Urban, Carl, Lawrence, Oscar and Bob Ritter; his son-in-law Rick Miller; and his great grandchild Oliver James Tepool.
He is survived by: his wife Marianne Ritter (Otte); his children, Janet Niehaus (Rick), Diane Miller (Mark Eubanks), Joann Johns (Mark), Linda Ritter, Steve Ritter (Lisa), Dan Ritter (Mary), Tom, John Ritter (Jennifer), David Ritter (Stephanie) and Jim Ritter; and his grandchildren, Matthew Ritter, Jamie Horn (Kevin), Derrick Niehaus, Laura Niehaus, Kevin Niehaus, Lisa Boggs (Ben), Brian Rickey (Abbey), Lisa Ragle (Jason), Eric Miller, Danielle Tepool (Gary), Andrew Ritter (Megan), Joe Ritter (Peyton), Michael Ritter (Emily), Mark Ritter (Paulina), Katie Cummings (Brett), Kris Ritter (Katie), Kayla Ritter, Kearstyn Weber (Michael), Myranda Ritter (Derek Feld), Alex Johns (Chanice) and Blake Johns (Megan). He is also survived by twenty-four great grandchildren.
