He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester J. Happe and Irene L. Happe (Effinger); his daughter Jo Ann Schoenstein; and his siblings, Darlene Baumgart, Robert and Ronald Happe.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Happe (Martin); his children, Jayne Downs (Tom) and Gerald "Jerry" Happe (Cindy); his son-in-law Rob Schoenstein; his grandchildren, Courtney Merkel (Patrick Lewis), Tyler Merkel (Tara), Holly Sweeney (Daniel), Abby Albin (Jacob) and Zachary Schoenstein; and his great grandchildren, Parker, Joseph, Oliver and Betty.
