He was predeceased by: his wife Wilma "Willie" Phillips (Powell); his parents, Harry Phillips and Mildred Phillips (Spangler); and his siblings, Harry, George, Bobby Phillips and Kathy Clifford.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Clark, Jamie Fulton (Blake), James "Jimbo" Phillips (Tammy) and Wendy Brown (Terry); and his grandchildren, Chris Phillips (Missy), Cara Harrison (Manny), Nic Blanchard (Tiffany), Logan Schmitt (Christy), Jonathan Wink, Shayla Lambert (Corey), James David Phillips III, Bryona Ray (Kevin), Mark Turner, Terriana Brown, DeShawn, Trevor Fulton, Trace Fulton and Tavon Clark. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Alexander Funeral Home West (2100 W Illinois St, Evansville, IN 47712).
