With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James S. Voorhees of Evansville, Indiana, born in Streator, Illinois, who passed away on March 24, 2024 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James S. Voorhees to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Cameron Voorhees and Marguerite Voorhees (Myer); and his wife Nita Voorhees. He is survived by : his children, Kim Whisler of Elkhart, IN and John Voorhees (Karen) of Georgetown, IN; his grandchildren, Jim Whisler (Nicole), Kristin Voorhees Evans, Mary Whisler (Aulani) and Brent Voorhees; and his great grandchildren, Jay Whisler and Natalie Whisler.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heart To Heart Hospice, 610 E Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47713.

“To the Voorhees's family. I am so very sorry to hear of you loss. Your father was a coach to my husband, George at Evansville College, now U of E. George ran track and specifically hurdles. I have several photos of my husband from that time. Happy memories. George respected you father very much. George passed away in 2022 but still had one of those photos hanging in the family room. My prayer for the family during this time of loss.”
