He was predeceased by : his parents, John Dersch and Phyllis Dersch (Roedel); and his nephew J. T. Gamble. He is survived by : his daughters, Tammy Dowdy (Chris) of Mount Carmel, IL and Penny Luzadder (Mark) of Flora, IL; his grandchildren, Chase Dowdy, Olivia, Emma and Elijah Luzadder; and his siblings, Tom Dersch (Dorothy), Don Dersch and Donna Gamble. He is also survived by his family and friends.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
