He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Junior Mitchell and Jo Ann Mitchell (Yackle); and his brothers, Gary, Bruce, Jeff and Troy Mitchell.

He is survived by: his pets, Jasper, Iris and Macy; his wife Kathy Mitchell (Schneider); his children, Ryan E. Mitchell (Heather) and Erika L. Ceballos (Christian); his grandchildren, Broderick Mitchell, Jaycee Mitchell, Faeryn Ledrick and Fallon Ledrick; and his sister Carolyn Tyring. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
