With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leon Ellis Jones of Evansville, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryan Jones and Lourenie Hughes (Lamar); his son Ellis Jones; his siblings, Frankie Oliver, Olan Jones and Hiram Jones; and his brother-in-law Charles Elliott.
He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Jones (Mercer); his children, Rosalie Miller (Alan) and Jeff Jones (Shannon); his grandchildren, April Miller (Dexter Roberts), Heather Parkinson (Robby), Kevin Jones, Courtney Harveston (Chad) and Sean Miller (Lasha); and his sister Edith Elliott. He is also survived by 15 great-granchildren and many other extended family.
