She was predeceased by: her parents, Blead Edward and Sylvia "June" Applegate (Elverd); her husband Urban Sommer; her siblings, Mark Applegate, Shannon Harding and Donna Meredith; and her granddaughter Lydia.

She is survived by: her children, Barbie Lindsey of Tell City, Terre Haute of Tell City, Chris Sommer of Tell City and Kristy Gebhard of Tell City; her siblings, Mike Applegate, Stephanie Thompson (Mark) and Kelly Claxton; and her grandchildren, Katie, Drake, Abigail, Connor, August, Patience, Creed, Nolan and Nathan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Marcie's husband, Urban Sommer and her granddaughter, Lydia Haycraft.
