Marie Leistner Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Marie Leistner of Evansville, Indiana. Marie, born on September 14, 1935, passed away on August 5, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Merkel and Anna Merkel (Seger); her daughters, Sharon Ann and Sue Ann Spanner; and her siblings, Virginia Schroering, Sylvester, Linus and Cletus Merkel.

She is survived by: her children, Donna Kleaving (Wayne) of Tell City and Alan Leistner (Karin) of Evansville; her son-in-law Rick Spanner of Evasville; her grandsons, Travis Kleaving of Tell City and Matthew Spanner (Jamie) of Evansville; her great grandchild Lucas Spanner; her sister Rosalee Preusz; and her sister-in-law Millie Merkel.
