He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard "Bun" Murty and Marva Dean McGehee (Whobrey); his stepfather Jim McGehee; his parents-in-law, Barnett and Margie Pruitt (Johnson); and his siblings-in-law, Allen Pruitt and Lynda Roach.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Murty (Pruitt) of Evansville, IN; his children, Kaelie Moody (Donald), Michael Long (Dora), Amanda Streeter and Mark Murty; his sister Sherry Dopp (Chuck); his nephews, Mike and Joey Dopp; his cousin Debbie Caves; his siblings-in-law, Karin Pruitt and Robert Pruitt; and his grandchildren, Camden Long, Margie Thomas, Delilah Long, Kayden Perez and Ian Perez.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Browning Funeral Home (738 E Diamond Ave, Evansville, IN 47711). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
