We are sad to announce that on October 2, 2025, at the age of 89, Nancy Cates in Evansville, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Marcella Sanders (Murl), Betty Wood (Anna Welch) and Bobby Wood (Patsy); her brothers-in-law, Murl Sanders (Marcella) and James Mitchell (Rose); her siblings' children, James Wood, Bruce Sanders (Lennie) and Janice Sanders Boyd (Larry); and her great-nephew Alex Hoffmann.
She is survived by: her sister Rose Mitchell (James); her sister-in-law Patsy Mashburn Wood (Bobby); her sibling's children, James Welch, John Wood (Susanne), William Wood (Heather), Cindy Sanders Laxton (Bob), Carmela Welch Hoffmann and Endie Wood Haney (Terry); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Johnston (Ashley), Scott Sanders (Lynley), Bryce Laxton (Caitlin), Colby Laxton, Damian Hoffmann, Matthias Hoffmann, Dalton Haney, Aubree Denton (Kyle), Piper Boyd, Isabel Laxton, Joy Laxton, Alexis Wood and Addison Wood; Brady Boyd, Preston Denton, Graham Denton, Asher Sanders and Manuel Laxton-Alston.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Morgans Funeral Home (301 W Washington St, Princeton, KY 42445). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery East Green (415 E Green St, Princeton, KY 42445).
