He was predeceased by: his father Melvin "Mel" Gaffney; and his daughter Megan Renae Gaffney. He is survived by: his mother Diane Gaffney (Butler) of Evansville, IN; his wife Lesa Gaffney (Robb) of Evansville, IN; his stepdaughters, Paige Randle (Jullian) of Evansville, IN and Jade Lawrence (Larry) of Evansville, IN; his siblings, Mary Gaffney (Wayne Cardwell) of Evansville, IN and Gary Gaffney (Jan) of Houston, TX; his nieces and nephews, Addison Abbott, Alli Gries (Noah), John Abbott, Caroline Barnhill and Brett Paul (Dan); and his great-niece Margaret Gries. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
