He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Cornwell and Lester "Bud" Cornwell; his sisters, Norma, Devida and Donna; his son Jerry Cornwell; and his grandsons, Erik Tyler Cornwell and Logan Riley Burden.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Cornwell; his stepchildren, Elaine, James and Bethany; his children, Terry Cornwell of Iowa, Belinda Cornwell of Illinois and Tonya Burden (Perry) of Indiana; his siblings, Steve Cornwell of Illinois and Eunice Moeller of Illinois; his grandchildren, Jasmyne Helton, Dr. Taylor Burden, Elijah Burden, Amber Stephens and Morgan Smith; and his great grandchildren, Jayde Crider, Joshua Tyler Helton, Nova Rayne Cornwell, Greyson and Emery Stephens. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
