We are sad to announce that, on April 23, 2026, at the age of 89, Ruth Whitaker of Evansville, Indiana, born in Owensboro, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Ruth's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Ruth has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel Whitaker II; her sister Phyllis; and her sister-in-law Virginia Keene. She is survived by: her children, Margaret Whitaker, Patty Whitlow (Richard) and Samuel Whitaker III (Bonnie); and her grandchildren, Rachel Whitlow Bowman, Nathan Whitlow, Samuel Whitaker IV, Owen Whitaker and Megan Whitaker. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
