With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley A. Schaefer of Evansville, Indiana, born in Greenville, Missouri, who passed away on April 1, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry A. Seabaugh and Clara E. Seabaugh (Parsons); her son Patrick Schaefer; and her siblings, Geneva Lanman, E. Christine Miller and J. Howard Seabaugh.

She is survived by : her sister Betty McDermott; and her children, Brenda Jost (Jim), Frank Schaefer (Laura), John Schaefer (Jennifer), Mark Schaefer (Darlene), Daniel Schaefer, Rosanna Evans (David), Pete Schaefer (Brandie), Janie Solomon, Bobbi Debes (Tom) and Adam Schaefer (Stephanie). She is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 4th 2024 at 9:30 AM and from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Alexander Funeral Home East (2115 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN 47714). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Benedict Cathedral (1328 Lincoln Ave, Evansville, IN 47714).
