She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Huber and Floriene Huber (McNeal); her husband David A. Gard; and her sister Janine D. Huber. She is survived by: her children, Betty Quelette, Gary Gard (Kimberly), Connie Howerton (Harris), Karen Stapleton, Michael Gard (Laura) and Sherry Gard; and her sister Leslie Cummins. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and 2 nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society, reflecting Shirley's lifelong love and compassion for animals.
