He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Commens (Nickens); his sons, Chris Commens, Brian Commens (Arin) and Adam Commens; his grandchildren, Lora, Ella, Julia and Taylor Commens; and his siblings, Mary Iafrate (Terry), Alice Commens, Jane Alvey (Mike) and John Commens.
