He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert A. Diehl and Mary Louise Diehl (Hooper); and his brother Albert James "Jack" Diehl. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Godeke-Diehl; his son Brian; his daughter-in-law Courtney Diehl; his stepson Clinton Godeke; his siblings, Shirley Ubelhor and Rick; his sisters-in-law, Teresa Diehl and Pam Diehl; and his granddaughters, Evelyn and Eleanor Diehl.
