He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel David Batten and Mary Surprise Wade; his wife Donna Rae Schellhase; his brothers, Charles Ray Kimmel and Alvin Joseph Shimek; his grandson Jacob Batten; and his great grandchild Jaeden Eapmon.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Roark of Elnora, IN, David Batten (Patti), Diane Buchta (Ronnie Bunch), Evansville and Mike Batten (George Glass) of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Amanda Eapmon, Scott Roark (Ebany), McKenzie Greenwood (David), Madison Petrig (Luke), Taylor Buchta (Ethan Welch) and Luke Batten (Lauren); and his great grandchildren, Jalen McGuire, Niasia McGuire, Jordan Eapmon, Daisy Roark, Baron Roark, Eleanor Greenwood, Ezra Greenwood, Harold Batten, Marley Petrig and Penelope Greenwood.
