He was predeceased by: his siblings, Kenneth Ortel and Janet Pyle; and his daughter-in-law Crystal Ortel. He is survived by: his wife Janice Sue Fisher; his children, Chad Ortel of Shelbyville and Mandy Fleming of Zionsville; his sister Becky Wiley of Ingalls; and his grandchildren, Allyssa Steele (Caleb), Owen Ortel, Seth Ortel, Kenzee, Claire Fleming and Sylvie Fleming. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (6513 WCR 300 S, New Palestine, IN 46163). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
