He was predeceased by: his parents, Bobby J. Sands and Susan K. Sands (Jones); and his mother-in-law Elizabeth Rennaker (Dailey). He is survived by: his wife Melissa L. Sands (Rennaker); his brother Lloyd Sands; his nephew Bobby A. Sands; his father-in-law Dale Rennaker; Copper and Raven. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grant County Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959 in remembrance of Bobby.
