He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Benjamin Heiny and Dorothy M. Heiny (Fulkerson). He is survived by: his children, Stacy Stepp (Ronald, Jr.) of Fairmount and Brian Heiny (Anastasia) of Royal Center; his brother Gary Heiny (Robin) of Gas City; and his uncle Marvin Heiny.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Fairmount Chapel, Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services (415 S Main St, Fairmount, IN 46928). A masonic service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, Shriners Children's, c/o Office of Philanthropy 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 an organization very close to Gene's heart.
