He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mahoney and Edith Mahoney (Bigger); his siblings, Harry Mahoney (Jean), Gerald Mahoney (Marjorie) and Vera Neeley (Milton); and his son Michael Larry Mahoney.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Mahoney (Sheryl) and Gail Ann Williams (Billy); his grandchildren, Christy Mahoney (Julie), Marion, Anna Richards (Brian), Chris Woody (Annette), Niki Hubbard (Steven) and Alexandria; and his great grandchildren, Mason, Lucas Richards, Kinzie, Olivia, James Hubbard and Jessie Woody. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
