He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Wilkes and Dorothy Wilkes (Pearson); his wife Cindy Ann Bishir; his daughter Taylor Caroline Wilkes; and his great-nephew Marcus Brandt.

He is survived by: his son Christopher Wilkes (Danielle) of Fairmount; his granddaughters, Chloe Wilkes, Kennedy Wilkes and Emily Wilkes; and his sisters, Cheryl Douglas and Marcia France (Brian Purdom) of Marion. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
