Gale was predeceased by: parents, Herman Dunigan and Ruby Dunigan (Turner); and siblings, Jim Dunigan, Phyllis Phillips, Janis Grass, Marcella McAhren and Ritta Bostic.

Gale is survived by: brother Ray; husband Wendell Richardson; children, Ray Richardson (Susan) and Raquel Richardson (Kaus Christopher); grandchildren, Kiehl and Finley Christopher; and siblings, Reva Glass (James) and Danny Dunigan (Julie). Gale is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
