He was predeceased by: his parents, William Aemmer and Helen Aemmer (Devore); his siblings, Bill, Tony Aemmer and Barbara "Sis" Black (Aemmer); and his nephew Mark Aemmer.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen "Kathy" (Bowman); his children, Todd (Judy), Teresa Sidebottom (Doug) and Tracy Diers (Scott); his grandchildren, Brandon Sidebottom (Haley), Katie Just (Kyle), Matthew Sidebottom, Aaron Aemmer, Kylie Hartpence (Aaron), Nick Aemmer, Nan Book, Kevin Diers (Mia), Christian Diers (Morgan), Jo Book, Julia Book and Cassie Diers; and his great grandchildren, Kohen, Warren, Dallas and Aspen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St Marys Rd, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at the Kraft Graceland Memorial Park (2778 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, IN 47150).
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to St. Croix Hospice or St. Mary's of the Knobs Catholic School.
