He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Kates (Gallagher); his children, Amy Reising (Joe), Chris Kates (Marcella) and Marideth Kates; his grandchildren, Matt Reising, Jon Reising (Bailee), Scarlett Kates and Henry Kates; and his sister Judy O'Neal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home Inc. (500 E Park St, Fort Branch, IN 47648). Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (5342 IN-168, Fort Branch, IN 47648).
