He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl McAbee and Mary Mae Landers; his granddaughters, Mandy Papineau and Miranda Orrell; and his brother Pete McAbee.
He is survived by: his wife Kay McAbee; and his children, Dedra Strong of Montana, Bill McAbee Jr. (Kim) of Indiana, Anna Orrell (Jim) of Indiana, Shane Bentz (Cindy) of Wisconsin and Jeremy "Jerry" Bentz (April) of Indiana. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 1 great-great-grandson; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Northridge Baptist Church (1300 E Cook Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northridge Baptist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
