She was predeceased by: her parents, T. C. Huckleberry and Eula Bell Huckleberry; her brother Benny L. Huckleberry; and her siblings-in-law, Cottrell Lyles and Helena Huckleberry.
She is survived by: her husband Leonard L. Yates; her children, Dewayne Walker and Carmen Yates; her siblings, Nancy Billingsley (Frankie), Ethel O'Kelley (Charles), Joan Starks (Wilson), Suzanne Lyles, Brenda Philpot (Curtis Sr.), Lillian Huckleberry, Grover Huckleberry (Mary Lue), Jessie Huckleberry (Darice Roberts) and Samuel Huckleberry (Tracy); and her close friends, Suezette Phillips, Gloria Smith, Fredna Weemes of Patricia, Johnson, Cora Mae Davis-Jordan, Fern Lewis, Jean Jones, Doris Sanders and Vera McGee. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
