He was predeceased by: his father Len Thornson. He is survived by: his children, Kaylee Buhr (Scott) of Fort Wayne and Trevor Thornson of Fort Wayne; and his siblings, Mike Thornson (Kathy) of Fort Wayne and Wendy Thornson-Johnson of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
