He was predeceased by: his wife Ilene Winans (McDonald); his grandchild Keelee Winans; and his parents, Robert Winans and Francille Winans. He is survived by: his children, Charley "Chip" Winans (Melody), Elise Caprino (Frank), Chris Winans, Renee Snook (Jake), Geoff Markiton (Kristin) and Aimee Winans. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Charlie requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Attn: Donations Department, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
