He was predeceased by: his father Ned R. Altekruse. He is survived by: his mother Kay Altekruse (Jackson); his daughter Zoë Altekruse; his siblings, Lisa Everson (Scott Miller) and Matthew Altekruse (Donna); and also Danielle Altekruse. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Food Bank or Humane Fort Wayne.
