He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Edward Schenkel and Marjorie Schenkel; and his parents, Edward Schenkel and Marjorie Schenkel. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Schenkel; his children, Katrina Nichols, Theresa Schlegel (Brent) and Benjamin Schenkel (Sarah); his grandchildren, Isabella Nichols, Gracie Schlegel, Isaac Nichols, Emma Schenkel, Jonathan Schlegel, Edward Schenkel, Ivan Nichols, Eli Schenkel and Reid Richmond; and his pet Buddy The Cat.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
