He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Thiele and Velma Thiele (Gerke); his daughter-in-law Kris Thiele; and his brothers-in-law, Don and Hank Gallmeyer.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thiele; his children, Sheri Parnin (Paul) and Randy Thiele; his grandchildren, Kayla Todd (Byron), Brianna, Jacob Parnin, Gwyn and Sawyer Thiele; his great grandchildren, Georgia and Bauer Todd; and his siblings, Ron Thiele (Cheryl), Elaine and Carolyn Gallmeyer. He is also survived by three nieces and five nephews.

Contributions in Delbert's honor may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church General Fund or Cemetery Fund.
