He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Bendel and Elsie Bendel; his daughter Linda Weibel; and his sisters, Lisetta Ghormley and Carol Balser (Dave).
He is survived by: his wife Martha; his daughter Donna Shook (Harry); his son-in-law Terry Weibel (Dana); his grandchildren, Mark Novak (Pam), Megan Curtis (Doug), Dirk Novak (Karen) and Michael Wakeland (Luchi); his great grandchildren, McKenna, Madison, Chase, Kaleb, Jordan and Abby; and his brother-in-law Ronald Ghormley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight Northeast Indiana, Heartland Hospice, or Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
