He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Hamilton and Estella Hamilton; his wife Dianna M. Hamilton; his daughter Cindy Henley; his sons-in-law, Robert Henley and Joe Daugherty; and his siblings, Joann Hamilton and Robert Hamilton.

He is survived by: his girlfriend Norma Closson; his daughters, Sally Bell (Bill), Becky Daugherty and Sherry Mix (Gary); and his siblings, Marilyn Orr and Dale Hamilton (Linda). He is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in his honor may be given to Donald's family c/o Sally Bell.
