He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Higgins and Garnet Higgins; and his siblings-in-law, Jim, John Deming, Larry and Jerilyn Sheets.
He is survived by: his son Dr. Chad E. Higgins (Susanne); his grandchildren, Jessica Vogelgesang (Joe), Nathan Higgins (Karlie), Emma Westerberg (Robby), Daniel Higgins (Marisa), Andrew Higgins and Rebecca Higgins; his great grandchildren, Eleanor Jane, Abigail Jo and Jude Ryder Higgins; his brother Jerry Higgins (Linda); his siblings-in-law, Linda Deming, Bill and Joye Gardenour; and also Christopher J. Higgins (Lori). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family requests memorial donations be made to The Chapel in Fort Wayne.
