He was predeceased by: his parents, George Peterson and Maxine Peterson; his wife Norma Shipley; and his son-in-law Rob Headford. He is survived by: his children, Mark Peterson (Marcia), Barry Peterson (Patricia), Jerry Peterson (Amber), Kim Heckman (Tom) and Cindy Headford. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
