She was predeceased by: her parents, Yeatman Thomas Knox and Annabelle Starks (Hatcher); and her siblings, Thomas Knox, Grabriel Starks and Martha Curry.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rochelle Whitt (Johnson), Robin Johnson, Deetra Johnson and Anjanette Josette Sewell (Day); her grandchildren, Rosco, Antwan, Antonio Johnson, David Sewell, Jasmine, Jamela Sewell, Ayanna Patterson and Alissa Johnson; and her siblings, Debroah Starks (Gail), Alberta Duke and Clarence Starks Jr.. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
