He was predeceased by: his parents, Lafayette Brumfield and Lillian Brumfield; and his siblings, Carol Meade, Bud Brumfield, Leola Stout and Rose Bickford.

He is survived by: his wife Leila Brumfield; his sons, Densil Brumfield and Shane Brumfield (Christine Rice); his grandchildren, Faith, Hope and Michael; his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth and Noah; and his siblings, Betty Shepherd (Jack), Larry Brumfield (Billie) and Chester Brumfield (Theada). He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
