Ellis Ray Chaffin Obituary

ELLIS RAY CHAFFIN, 63, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Bethlehem Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation. Born Jan. 15, 1954, in Richwood, W.Va., he was a son of the late Herbert and Rose (Boley) Chaffin. Ellis was a mechanic with Midas for 15 years. He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bird watching. He loved spending time with his son Ellis Ray Chaffin Jr. & His wife Brittany & his grandchildren Mikelray and James.

Ellis enjoyed helping people and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Ellisha Chaffin of Churubusco, Brian Chaffin of Churubusco, and Ellis Chaffin Jr. or Ellis R Chaffin II of Fort Wayne and his wife Brittany M. Canaday of Fort Wayne and their children, Mikelray And James, along with Ellis’s brothers, Roger Chaffin of Woodburn, Jackie Chaffin of Columbia City, Larry (Dee) Chaffin of Fort Wayne, and Herbert (Judy) Chaffin of Fenwick, W.Va.; and former wife and mother of his children, Angie Chaffin of Churubusco.

He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sheri Lynn Chaffin. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Advantage Funeral Home, 2403 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Chaplain Scott Shaffer officiating.
