He was predeceased by: his father Paul Buhr; his brothers, Melvin Buhr, Ralph Buhr and Eldon Buhr; and his siblings-in-law, Roberta Buhr and Earl Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Roger Buhr (Hali), Lois Ehle (Tom), Joyce Koontz (Jay), Donna Leonard (Dan Gerlach) and Ronald Buhr (Gail); his siblings, Robert Buhr (Joan), Joan Winesburg (Clair), Marcella Buhr and Pauline Buhr-Carpenter; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Buhr and Carol Buhr. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church and School.
