He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Leo and Laurine Jo Hathaway (Downing); his wife Janet L. Hathaway; and his daughter Susan Ginger. He is survived by: his son Joel Hathaway; and his siblings, DeWayne "Bud" Hathaway of Garrett, IN, George Hathaway, Jeanette Scheurich of Garrett, IN and Faith Ann Galligher of Garrett, IN. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home (1277 Co Rd 56, Garrett, IN 46738). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
