He was predeceased by: his parents, Faymon McCollum Sr. and Frankie Pearl Perkins (Tyra); his sons, Jason Reid and Zachary Stewart; and his sisters, Bonnie and Geneva Reed (McCollum).

He is survived by: his wife Michelle Tyra; his children, Fayetta Tyra, LaTonya Gosnell (William), Hope Tyra and Faymous Tyra Jr.; and his siblings, Helen Jones, Glenda Hodges (Marion) and Faymon McCollum Jr.. He is also survived by 4 step children, 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
