He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schaefer and Marilyn Schaefer (Moore); and his sister Kathy Hakenewerth. He is survived by: his wife Amiee Schaefer; his children, Preonda Reese (Stephanie) and Johnathon Schaefer; his granddaughter Zayde Reese; his siblings, Diane Follmer (Doug), Mike Schaefer (Pat), Dave Schaefer (Patty), Richard Schaefer (Debbie) and Laura Franey (Rodney); and his siblings-in-law, Wendy Scott (Brent) and Greg Hakenewerth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN 46825).
