We announce the death of Gregory Cooper in Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 65. He was predeceased by: his father Elijah Cooper; his grandparents, Rosie Carter, Mary Lizzy Cooper and Luther Cooper; and his niece Shambrielle Cooper.
He is survived by: his mother Nancy Cooper; his siblings, Barbara Eatmon Raquel Daye (Mark), Cynthia Echols (Charles), Bernadette Cooper (Charles Dies), Benita Robinson (Timothy), Darryl Cooper (Michelle) and Derrick Cooper; his nieces and nephews, Admira Cooper, Sukenya Cooper, Dwight Eatmon, Anthwon Cooper, Kenneth Eatmon and Jiair Cooper; his uncle James Cooper (Linda); his aunts, Unita Cooper and Ozella Cooper; and his close friend Loretta Downtown. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the East Chestnut Church of Christ (3601 Chestnut St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
