He was predeceased by: his parents, Alberta M. Kirk (Arnold) and Harold Van Kirk; his former wife Nila Van Kirk; his sister Kathryn Van Kirk; and his granddaughter Erica Van Kirk.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene "Terry" Van Kirk; his children, Pamela Lowe, Jeffrey Van Kirk (Terri) and Thomas Van Kirk (Rhonda); his stepchildren, Mary Tilbury (Kevin) and Michael Betson (Toria); and his sister Julia Tracey (John). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
