It is with sadness that the passing of Jayne Van Winkle in Fort Wayne, Indiana is shared. Jayne, born on May 9, 1932, passed away on August 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Jayne will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Jayne by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Jayne is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Jayne’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jane Panfil and Anthony Panfil; and her brother James Panfil. She is survived by: her brother John Panfil (Mary); and her daughters, Cheri Rickert (Dave) and Sue (Scott Summerville). She is also survived by two grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Saint Anne Home (1900 Randallia Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46805). A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Saint Anne Retirement Community (1900 Randallia Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46805). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery (2000 Walker Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Fort Wayne Humane Society http://www.humanefw.org or Saint Anne Communities http://www.sacfw.org (hospice care) in memory of Jayne A. VanWinkle.
